Transition From Home To Nursery

Within Kinnaird Waters ELC Centre, we have established a transition programme to support any new children and families joining us at this important time in their early years lives.

All our families are initially offered a home visit, where by a member of our senior leadership team and your child's keyworker will come out and visit you within the home environment. We have found by carrying this out, it starts to build that relationship and attachment with the key worker and the child. The child feels more relaxed within their home environment. Also, when your child arrives at nursery for their visit it will be a familiar face for them arriving at the nursery door. The SLT member can fill in any necessary paperwork with the parents.

Your child will then be invited into the nursery for their first visit. This will be an hour long visit for your child to get familiar with their new surroundings and explore alongside their keyworker. After the first visit the key worker will collaborate and extend the visiting times to accommodate both. Falkirk Council allow a two week settling period, to allow the child to fully settle within the nursery before starting full time.

Transition From Nursey To Primary 1

Within Kinnaird Waters ELC Centre we want the best possible start to Primary 1 for your child.

We have a comprehensive programme of transition. We have planned a series of various transitional opportunities for both children and parents over the year to provide a smooth and exciting transition for all.

Transition From Toddler Groups

We have recently been collaborating within our local area, creating a transitional process with our local baby and toddler groups. One of our EYO's has been visiting, carrying out Bookbug sessions within the community, beginning the transitional stage for the children.
